GET completed successfully, in cooperation to the Institute for Nuclear & Radiological Sciences & Technology, Energy & Safety of the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, project regarding the implementation of data diffusion platform “exploiting” the platform Cyber-infrastructre for Climate Research Management – CCRM of the project «ENTEC- Enhancing the capacity for Environmental Technology and Climate Research» (Ε-1763). CCRM focuses on the these sector below concerning climate research:

  • aerial pollution models
  • Air pollutants emissions inventory
  • Risk management regarding natural and anthropogenic phenomena
  • Short-term weather forecast
  • Seasonal climate forecast

The platform for meteorological information management and visualization is based on FOSS technology and includes the spatially activated database PostgreSQL, Geoserver and GET NEXT Viewer. GET NEXT Viewer is a modern mapping and analysis software based on contemporary computing frameworks like HTML5 and javascript as well as openlayers 3 Library for mapping management.
